Growth feels slow while you’re in it. I’ll say it again — growth feels SLOW while you’re in it. Especially in sales.
But slow and steady growth is the secret to sales success. Trust me, one day you’ll look back and marvel at how far you’ve come.
Of course, if you’ve read my book, you know that I’m also a huge proponent of taking massive action… which might seem like the opposite of slow growth.
So what’s the deal? Where should you place your bets? Massive action or slow growth?
You can bet the house on BOTH. Massive action and slow growth are the two main ingredients for a transformed life.
This is where generational wealth is made. It’s when the tortoise and hare inside of you team up and go the distance, fast and furious, unrelenting.
Don’t worry, today I’ll unpack this and leave no stone unturned. If you’re in sales or business — which is all of us! — then this practical guide is pure gold. It’s required reading.
So let’s get into it.

Take Massive Action (be the hare)
The fastest way out of a sales slump is by taking massive action. That means pick up the phone and start dialing like you mean it. Why? Because you can 100-percent control the outcome by controlling your output. More shots on goal always equates to more goals. This is a law of nature.
Commit to making 100 calls today. Embrace the grind. This is the short-term massive action mindset that the top sales pros all have.

But taking massive action doesn’t just mean increasing your call volume. It also means improving your mind, body, and emotions. Take massive action by hitting the gym and eating right, doing breathing exercises, listening to motivational speakers like Jim Rohn during your commutes, and reading sales and self-help books each night before bed.
Taking massive action isn’t something you do one day and then put it on the shelf. Massive action is a way of life.
But… it’s only one-half of the equation. Remember, slow growth is also necessary if you want to rise to the top of your field.
Sales Tip: You will have down days and even down weeks. That’s OK. Life happens. You might catch the flu, a loved one might pass away, or maybe you’ll suffer a season of mental health issues. Take the time you need, then get right back in the game and start taking massive action.
Slow Growth (be the tortoise)
Have you ever learned an instrument to mastery, or foreign language to fluency, or any complex skill?
Or ever been on a weight-loss journey, or as the kids say, the “gains train” to build muscle and bulk? How about investing over a long time-horizon?
If you’ve done any of these things, then you know that slow and steady wins the race.
While you’re on a journey of self-development, you won’t even notice a difference from day-to-day. Yesterday will feel like today, and today will feel like tomorrow. There is no immediate gratification (that’s why we turn to cheap dopamine tricks like IG or worse).
To succeed in sales, you have to get into this mentality.
Start making incremental improvements — just get 1% better every week — and this trajectory will ultimately change your life.

If this seems too pie-in-the-sky, then let’s talk practical methods and plans. Below is a one-week plan that you can start today. It’s completely adaptable, so make it make sense for you. The idea is to start making the moves to make it happen. Remember, don’t talk about it, BE about it.
Monday:
– Block 3-4 hours for cold calling. No Insta, no X, no Snap. Only dialing.
– Refine your pitch and opener—test 2 variations.
– Follow up on last week’s “maybes.”
Tuesday:
– Call top 25 dream accounts.
– Send personalized follow-up emails same day.
– Record and review 5 calls for improvement.
Wednesday:
– Block 3-4 hours for power calling.
– Push for booked meetings.
– Post a value-driven LinkedIn post to stay visible.
Thursday:
– Re-engage old leads.
– Role-play objections with a peer for 30 minutes.
– Call early and late to catch more people live.
Friday:
– Analyze your week: what worked, what didn’t.
– Book calls for next week.
– Reward yourself for hitting call/meeting targets.
Daily:
– 75+ cold calls
– 10+ follow-ups
– 2+ booked meetings
Consistency + volume + incremental improvements = massive results.

Final Thoughts
The 1% of sales pros are those who take massive action in the short-term, but understand that these efforts pay off downstream, in the long-term.
It’s the man who practices piano 2 hours every day.
It’s the woman who invests 20% of every paycheck into solid, long-term investments.
It’s the woman who gets in the gym and works out 30 minutes daily.
It’s the man putting in 50 sales calls before lunch.
And the secret is this: these people could care less if there’s a reward that day. The reward will certainly come. It’s practically a law of nature.
So if you want to sow lasting success in life, take massive action and play the long game. Make moves today and every day, but keep showing up if you want to reap those long-game sales successes.
Until next time…
